Viadux Phase 1 – Manchester is a 40-storey mixed use residential tower block located in the Castlefield area of Manchester rising from the listed stone arches next to Manchester Central Convention Complex.
AM Fires Systems remit involved the design and installation of the fire sprinkler system to BS 9251 Residential standards and the wet riser comprising of 2 cylindrical wet riser water storage tanks, 2 electric fire pumps feeding a wet riser landing valve on each floor. Works within the arches had to be carefully designed and engineered due to the nature of the structure and minimal impact on the listed structure as no drilling was permitted to the brickwork. The residential apartments on the upper floors involved a modern glass tower with prestigious duplex penthouses on the upper 2 floors looking out over the City of Manchester.
